How much time will my project take?

While Advanced Services can deliver your professional website in as little as 5 days, the size and complexity of each website determines the amount of time required. We will begin your website even before your text, photos, and any special requests are submitted to our developers. Page-lengths (due to text), navigation, and photographs can change the way a page is arranged; therefore theses items are best provided before we start a website to ensure a speedy delivery. What is a domain name?

A domain name is a "unique" name used to identify and locate computers on the Internet. Our domain name is www.advanced.bm. Domain names provide a system of easy-to-remember Internet addresses. Domain names are allocated by the domain registrars on a "first come, first served" basis. A domain name adds value to your Internet presence and is therefore of great value to your organization. We will register your domain name of choice (www.yourcompany.com) with any of the suffixes available (.com, .biz, .net, .org, .ca, .tv, etc.). The average price for a domain name is $25 per year.

What is web hosting?

A hosting service makes your website accessible over the Internet 24/7. When an internet user anywhere in the world, types in your web address; the hosting service responds by sending the requested page from your website. Our hosting rates are the most affordable in Bermuda. Why pay almost double with other companies? Furthermore, we can provide you with statistics and analytics for your website! What is Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?   

Search engine optimization is a set of proven techniques to get your website listed higher in the results of major search engines. Amongst other things, this involves Keywords, Meta Tags, Alt Tags and content editing. A form of online marketing, search engine optimization is the process of making a site and its content highly relevant for both search engines and searchers. What is Search Engine Submission?   

Search engine submission is the process of informing search engines of the existence of your website. It is the process of notifying search engines (like Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc.) and requesting that your website be included in that search engine or directory. Can I get e-mail with my website?

Yes, you can have e-mail and you will probably want e-mail addresses such as: info@my-company-name.com, etc. With our hosting services, you get one individual e-mail account and can have as many additional accounts for only $20 each.

How does the contact form mailer work?

A contact form mailer is an effective and efficient way to allow your website visitors to submit comments, questions, and queries quickly, securely, and without leaving your website. Contact form mailers are ideal for all web sites, especially for contact and feedback pages. Information sent via the contact form will be sent to your e-mail address in an easy and organized way, allowing easy management of customer contact.

Will you maintain my web site for me?

We are happy to maintain you website for as long as you would like. We can do this in two simple ways: A regular maintenance contract, the cost of which will depend on the number and complexity of changes made each month; or on an hourly basis (just $65 - $75 per hour) as and when you need to make changes. Do you redesign existing websites?

Yes we do. We can redesign, retaining your company or organizational style or we can redesign to give you a completely new professional image. Is your website up to date? We can build or redesign the professional website that you always wanted.

Who owns the website once the website is completed?

The website belongs to you - we will give you a copy (free) of the website. This copy is for your retention and should you wish to use another web design or web hosting company - you are completely at liberty to take this copy to them for them to use.

Please note that while html website pages can be copied to a folder/CD, Content Management System (CMS) websites cannot be copied. CMS websites can however be copied or moved from our hosting servers at any time.

Do I need to pay a deposit to get started?  

Yes, we require a deposit before we start work on your website. We require a 50% initial deposit, a 25% payment at the three quarter stage and the remaining amount at the completion of your website. We will begin work on your website as soon as your intial deposit is received. There will be multiple opportunities for revisions to get the website exactly the way you want it! We accept cash, check, money order, and bank transfer as payment.

Forum
